| Wow. First, let's take a breath. Get some oxygen to the brain, heart, and some other organs while we're at it. We are living things, right? We are Creation.
People who want clean air, clean water, pure food, lots of wild animals to hunt and watch, mountains to climb, and ecosystem services in general, are just plain humans. To be more specific, these people KNOW that they are Earthlings. These people know that manufacturing industries need clean water and clean air in order to make a solid, sustainable profit in the long run. Refining polluted air and polluted water is expensive. Many industries depend upon a clean, natural resource environment. People who want pristine natural resources see that all neighborhoods and communities deserve access to the Earth's excellent ecosystem services in their most optimized state.
So, if you call yourself a conservative, you'd better learn to CONSERVE. I can show the logic of this to you on a financial spreadsheet just as easily as I can in biological data. I do both, professionally. These two disciplines are not exclusive or antagonistic. But some of you folks are outrageously divisive and are basically gumming up the process of protecting the environment (upon which our very lives depend) and the process of taking our industries to the next level.
Now, for the people who are confused by the crapola published on the Internet ... There's this superpower called "critical thinking and analysis". You need to get that going for yourself because I watch you essentially consuming these outrageous (OUTRAGE) opinions from wherever and regurgitating them to anyone who will listen. If one person is full of bologna and the other person actually took the time to work really hard at being well informed, and the media industry showcases both opinions, it's not "fair and balanced" journalism. It's garbage. I'm being frank here.
I suggest everyone look into the process from which earth system change (i.e. "climate change") information comes to us. If you visit a big, INCLUSIVE conference, or if you talk to a bunch of researchers, scientists, and concerned policy-makers, you will find that they are not part of a Big Club. These adults, all over the world, are often in disagreement and are fighting with each other just like any other group. This disagreement IS democracy at work. The scientists are trying to get their actual findings to be known and the politicians are saying, "Maybe we can cut this out and leave this in". It's a difficult process. No one is working to 'pull the wool over anyone's eyes' in this earth system change conversation. It's too disorganized for that.
And yet the information that we do see, all points to one thing and it's this: While the bad choices in this multiple choice question are becoming more and more diverse, they are ALL bad choices. Is the Earth going to spin into an ice age or is it going to choke on the flames of its own fires or is it going to do something completely different? The answer is Yes, if we continue to be mired in the 20th century industries and behaviors. If you pick up the crown of responsibility, we can adapt, mitigate, and transition (as we always have) our culture, but this time into a resilient, sustainable, profitable, modern world with lower energy consumption and greater conviviality.
Finally to our journalists here... if you misquote me, I'll hang your freaking puppies. :) Everybody's got an ISP, a license plate, a social security number, etcetera. Take some responsibility for your actions and statements. Try not to be a coward. And don't doubt my 'kung fu' for one moment, ladies. I'm talking the straight stuff here.
But seriously folks, if you need help with fact-checking, I'll be happy to point you in a useful direction.
Good morning.

You must always have a secret plan. Everything depends on this: it is the only question. So as not to be conquered by the conquered territory in which you lead your life, so as not to feel the horrible weight of inertia wrecking your will and bending you to the ground, so as not to spend a single night more wondering what there is to do or how to connect with your neighbors and countrymen, you must make secret plans without respite. Plan for pleasure, plan for adventure, plan for pandemonium, as you wish; but plan, lay plans constantly.
And when you come to, on the steps of the Presidential Palace, in the green grass beside the highway, in your cell's gloomy solitude, your secret plan finished or foiled, ask your comrades, ask your cellmates, ask the wind, the waves the stars, the sea, ask everything that ponders, everything that wanders, everything that sings, everything that stings - ask them what time it is; and your comrades, your cellmates, the wind, the stars, the sea all will answer: "It is time for a new secret plan. So as not to be the martyred slave of routine, plan adventure, plan pleasure, plan pandemonium, as you wish; but plan, plan secretly and without respite".

My name is the Glorious Lotus Born. I am from the unborn sphere of all phenomena. I consume concepts of duality as my diet. I act in the way of the Buddhas of the three times."

| | Photosynthesis is a quiet, ambient-temperature process where solar radiance is captured and stored, offering life on Earth a tremendous amount of energy. Why aren't other complex energetic processes, associated with wind for instance, so apparent? What quiet energy storage processes has gravity or time invoked in Nature? Maybe I don't notice them because they don't benefit humanity. What energy does the ocean store? What energy do the clouds store? | comments: Leave a comment |

| Please continue to do little or nothing ... other than vent in online forums, in bars, to the waiter or waitress. Take no action. Do not intervene in the process. You are powerless anyway. Didn't you tell that to me yourself? You're "not interested in politics because they don't effect me". Damn straight.
